There are a handful of styles and trends that were on the runway at fashion week in New York, Paris and Milan recently…and while I'm not a huge "fashion week" obsessed individual I do like to browse online blogs and recaps about what the trends were and what sort of things we can be looking for on the clothing racks from some of our favorite budget-friendly shops. Below you can shop a list of 17 different trends seen at fashion week that won't break the bank. All of the items are under $50! Consider it a fall shopping guide selected just for you. You can thank me later!
Plaid, Plaid and more Plaid
Browsing websites I found that plaid was a big hit. Plaid everything. Scarves, dresses, shirts, pants…you name it. If it's plaid, it's in.
This is one of those styles that I have yet to embrace myself. However, I did get a black maternity midi dress for summer that I wore a few times and loved! The great thing about midi dresses is you can layer them with practically anything. Great for fall as it's the layering season!
I feel like fur has been around for a while now – and it isn't going anywhere! Which I am ok with. I like faux fur touches on clothing – although I don't have a lot….but, I am hoping to add a fur scarf of some kind to my fall/winter wardrobe.
Another new trend that I haven't had a chance to embrace. I think it's because I am still battling the pregnancy double chin I swear I have…so adding any emphasis to that area (unless it's via a scarf or turtleneck sweater) feels a bit off limits right now. A lot of women I know can pull off the choker effortlessly. And if you are one of them, I'd embrace it!
I always thought velvet was one of those materials that would either stay in the 80's or else on Barbie clothes…but alas, it has made its way to womens clothing and it doesn't look like it will be going anywhere! I haven't had a chance to purchase any velvet myself…but hope to find that certain something that might catch my eye in the next few months.
I really really love this trend. Chunky heels are great. Especially if you live in an area where fall weather brings rain and eventually snow!
Pinks & Blush Colors
My absolute favorite. I loveeee these colors. That is all.
Leather just ain't goin' no-where soon.
Not my cup of tea…however, I know a handful of people who could easily pull this off. I do like overalls…and have eyed them up a time or two. Maybe next fall? If they are still in style.
Another interesting and fun trend – liquid metal! I'll admit, this one surprised me. A definite 90's vibe coming back!
Slits and Cutouts
I've seen celebrities wearing this trend for a while now…I'm still not 100% sure how I would adopt it into my own "style" (or lack thereof) perhaps a skirt with a slit? I could maybe rock that.
Another favorite! I love sherpa lined anything. Cozy cozy!
Floral & Bohemian
I have yet to purchase something super floral for fall, but I definitely want to make an attempt to include a button up or tunic!
Who can deny adding a
life vest errr puffer jacket to their fall wardrobe.
Pumpkin Spice Color
Love, love, love. This color and the blush colors can stick around forever.
Hmmm…it's taken me a while to adjust to loving ripped denim…however, reconstructed denim takes things to a whole new level. It may be a bit tooooo out there for me.
90's Sweat Suits
This is a trend I've likely already implemented without even meaning to. Yes, thank you fall fashion week for giving me another reason to wear cozy sweat pants and sweat shirts!
